The Unfinished Business of Pain

For the last few weeks we have intrepidly looked at the chemistry of trials…realized that trials are usually the result of pain and no matter who we are…Trials are unavoidable.

  • Week 1 -> We Admitted that we ‘Cant Run and we Cant Hide’ when trials come
  • Week 2 -> Resentment means I am holding on to the right to hurt you for hurting me.
  • Last Week -> Time Doesn’t Heal All, but risk in trusting Him can and will.

Tonight we are wrapping Trails up with a special surprise…Pastor Dan our senior pastor (my dad :) will be with us to share some about his trials and failures as a father and a pastor.  I know that we have been sharing pieces of my story before each message for the last few weeks and tonight you’re going to get to see the end of that tonight and hear about how God restored me, my dad, and our relationship.

Before we wrapped up Trails I wanted to take a second and thank our PURE family for your grace as I shared deeply about my failures and trials over the last few weeks.  I know many of you have personally told me you were praying for Amanda and I after I shared about our journey a few weeks ago, and I know many more of you have been praying without saying anything.  From both of us we wanted to sincerely say Thank You.  Knowing you care enough to pray has blessed us both in ways that we will never be able to truly understand or express.  God is and has done amazing things in restoring us and our hearts…so much so we are looking forward to the day we get to share our story with you…believing that it will be an encouragement to you and others as well as a way for us to say thank you for being part of our story.

I’m exited to for what He has in store for each of us tonight and in this next season at PURE.  Freedom is real, pain can be overcome through risk and He will heal if we trust and let Him!
