What I’m Learning

Weve all been told never stop learning…so here it is…what I’m learning:

  1. I don’t Know Very Much- the more I learn the more I realize that, while I know a lot and have learned even more, I still don’t know very much!
  2. Love = Kindness- If were honest most of us equate Love as being expressed through sacrifice.  But recently I am realizing that Jesus didn’t see it that way.  Yeah sacrifice was a part of life and necessary at times…but sacrifice wasn’t what He meant when He said ‘Love your Neighbor’ or “Love the Lord your God with all your hear, soul, and mind.’  He didn’t make a mistake and say Love instead of sacrifice…He said Love, and meant it.  Then went on to say ‘I treasure obedience over sacrifice,’ and ‘I desire compassion over sacrifice.’  In short we can sacrifice for someone and not love them…but we cant be kind to someone without loving them. Love = Kindness
  3. A Second Chance = Transplant- A week doesn’t go by that we don’t talk about Hope and second chances at PURE and WOL.  Most of us at some point have thought that a second chance was the best blessing you could ever receive…and that we should be thankful for it and not expect any more.  On the other hand Jesus and the Holy Spirit are waiting…wishing…hoping that we would give them the chance to not just give us another opportunity…but to give us a new heart, character, peace, and joy about life…a transformation.  Jesus said ‘I came to give life that you could live it to the fullest.’  Don’t think living life to the fullest only includes a second chance, I think it includes full and complete heart repair.  Second Chances are a revolution…one that’s always about the heart.

What are you learning?
