Wait. Dream. Go.
Feb4 Those weren't the words I picked to theme out our retreat this weekend but I should have! Wait, Dream, Go...is exactly what were doing. At least once a year our MGMT team escapes somewhere a little remote to plan. As leaders there is a simple little concept to planning...it has to be Him. And if we want it to be Him, He has to have space to speak...so when you need to hear Him, and as Mark Batterson says, "A change of place, a change of space = a change of perspective." We know we need more than just a change of perspective...we need Him to invade our times of collaboration. Sometimes as Christians we like to say 'God were gonna do this or that...thanks for blessing it' and then we run off and do whatever sounds good. Our tradition is a little different. Session 1 of the day = Go away and be with Him for as many hours as you need to hear from Him...and we don't come back to our collaborative space until we do. Giving Him space is more than asking His blessing its inviting His guidance and participation. So we Wait on Him. Right now the Dream part of this is going down. I am sitting in our collaboration space while our teams are off dreaming. My inclination is always to encourage people to create 'reasonable' goals. Today I sent them off with this as their theme for their strategy session 'Dream can become real if they are His.' So right now they are dreaming God sized dreams for the second half of 2012. What's next? It's Go time. All the collaboration, strategy, and dreaming aren't enough to execute if you don't...GO! In just a minute they are going to sit down over dinner and present each of their dreams and plans...so each of us can help add legs to those dreams. Wait, Dream, Go is a life long principle that can be lived out in most places of life...so question is....are you Waiting? Dreaming? and are you willing to Go? -Shane live//PC
