Santa Monica Outreach

When: This Sunday, January 31 @2pm
What: Spreading HOPE to every heart by reaching out to the homeless in need in Santa Monica. Buying coffee, hamburgers, giving new socks and sharing the HOPE of Jesus.

What do you do???
1. join the team…meeting at 2pm in the south parking lot
2. bring some new socks to donate
3. bring some beanies and/or scarves
4. pray for the team

At PURE we talk often about living life together…Wed night was a powerful expression of just that!  Big thanks to Pastor Ronny Roa for coming out and sharing his heart with PURE.  Ronny has become a great friend to not just myself but to PURE as well.  Ronny thanks for all you do, for your commitment, for your passion and investment in the Kingdom.  I know your heart and know that you dont live the life you do for anyone short of Jesus Himself, but thank you for investing your life in those around you, myself included…

When I told PURE Wed that Ronny is a powerful example of a truly passionate Christian in love with Jesus’ church I meant that with every sincere fiber in my being!! Follow this guy on Twitter and friend him on Facebook!!

Tonight is poised to be an amazing(such a diluted word i know) night.  At the risk of writing on and on today i will just keep it simple and say that ‘My Secret’ can be characterized by only one word…REDEMPTION.  Taking what was meant for destruction and turning it into a spectacle of Gods love, hope and adoration of us….not to mention His unquenchable desire to have reverent intimacy with each of us.

Hundreds of you have thrown your secrets and shame on the table and said ‘This is mine, and Im done with it.  Jesus its yours…now take me and use me.” My heart is moved tonight for each of you to hear a story about someone whos experienced pain, baggage  and the freedom of Christ and the new creation and rebuilding of their heart because of Jesus hope, love and redemption.

Bring everyone you know who need hope (all of us) drag em, invite them all, just get them here…their lives wont be the same.

Tomorrow I have the joy of sharing my heart with the 30+ leaders at PURE.  Sharing what 2010 will mean for PURE with the people who bleed to make it happen is such an honor.  So many of you give believing that people can experience, love hope, peace, redemption and a 2nd chance it blows my mind.  2010 may be riddled with uncertainty for many I beleive it can be filled with HOPE for more.  Cant wait to worship, pray and believe with our team tomorrow.  Communicating my heart is something i treasure, cant wait to share it with all of you PC’s tomorrow.  Im proud of who you are and humbled to work with each of you…

So proud of you who took a stand tonight and let Jesus take your Secret Shame…Jesus paid the price and made the way for each of us to experience, love, hope, redemption and a second chance. Praying for those of you who made commitments tonight…what a courageous act to step out and admit that life needs to be different tonight, Praise God for your heart…Heaven knows your name tonight and the God of Creation is massively in love with you. Hope met hearts tonight…heres a little shot of what shame broken looks like…

I have said it before that I am not sure a week has gone by in the last 4 months that I have not cried at some point on Wed nights…While some might perceive it as a bleeding heart, its far more than that and I hope your heart will be moved to the same Passion mine has been when I share this.

Week in and week out I sit at my desk, or kneel in my office and beg God to use PURE.  Not for my sake, but for His.  That He would use a Wed night, a Community group, a decision counselor, or a cup of coffee in that week to generate a moment of redemption for someone.  And every week in those times my heart is turned back to what Jesus has done for me and so many others.  ‘He knew the failures we would encounter, the wounds that we would inflict and those we would endure, looked down at each of us, said I LOVE you…and died.‘

While some may see a crying man and a bleeding heart, I know that it is only because of a Passionate Soul that I am moved by God.  Not because of an emotion but because of the Power, Person, and Presence of the Holy Spirit raging in me. This is my cause…given to me by the God of all creation.  Its our cause so long as there are broken and empty hearts going to Hell and empty seats in churches and community groups around the world…

World Change today? You bet…but it starts with a question…’What are you willing to give up to see Him use you to bring Hope to Every Heart.’

Fear, Anxiety, and Worry are products of our unresolved pain and secrets…if you believe in world change, its time to get Passionate about Heart Change…your first then take it to others.

My heart is anxious for tonight…not because I am fearful, but simply because my heart is renewed and overwhelmed at the same time. Watching each of you walk up and drop your Secrets into the box last week moved my heart…Just minutes after service ended Wed I sat down in my office and began to read the anonymous confessions of your wounds…as I began to share the generalities among the Secrets some of the PURE staff began to cry, some because they shared the same secret and others because it overwhelmed their hearts.

For me my heart is broken because so many people in our generation are hiding in shame.  I had a friend tell me last night that they dont like coming to church because they feel Christian judgment when they do…I dont think that in reality she thinks that all Christians judge her for her mistakes and failures in life.  But somewhere we have believed a lie that told us if we were transparent and real we would be be outcast, if we were honest we would be rejected.  The subtlety of our Secrets and the worlds posture toward them has taken more of a toll on us than we realize.

Radical Grace is an anthem for us at PURE, but it requires Radical Transparency, and that is the bold step that each of you took last week.  I am so proud of you because today, this week, is a new chance, a new place of hope and life…a place that mistakes don’t equal failure and wounds don’t mean destruction.

Hope for Every Heart is a path to World Change, but its time for us to truly understand what Radical Grace really is about…This is coming from a recovering Porn addict Pastor whos radical transparency in church circles may just be a bit uncomfortable…truth is this is me, healed forgiven and restored, Jesus chose me like He did you and said, ‘youre good enough for me, your good enough for me to die for…’  This is me a Person of the 2nd Chance.

Whats still holding your heart?  What place do you need to be radically transparent and radically graced?? More tonight…

Sittin at home watching TV without really paying attention. My mind is lost thinking about each of you who made a decision last night for Jesus and then the hundreds of you who chose to not let your Secret keep you from making your life count! I read each of your Secrets today and prayed for all of them believing that last night was a new chance for each of you…and new start to a life devoted to a Passionate relationship with Jesus!
